Self-paced courses can start at any time after 1 Janurary 2019 and end when the material is completed. Support and communication for self-paced courses is through the moodle site where the course is hosted.
This course, beginning with the core Year 9-10 Australian Curriculum and covering the Astronomy optional content in Year 11/12 covers all of the material you would need to address the Science content areas, Science as a Human Endeavour and Science Inquiry Skills all within the content context of astronomy. It provides enough knowledge and experience to enable you to feel comfortable guiding a depth study in an Astronomy context with an appropriate mentor. Classroom ready curriculum materials and telescope time are freely provided.
This course is suitable for 18 hours of Teacher Identified Professional Development.
This course, while focussed on the Australian Curriculum and the requirements for Australian Teacher Training and PD accreditation, can be taken by any educator, formal or informal, around the world.
